UTILA, HONDURAS 2018

EdActs Global traveled to Utila, Honduras in June of 2018 to provide art, music, dance, and athletic training to the school where we built a playground in 2013. Students from South Dakota, Norway and California had participated. EdActs Global hosted and partnered with College of Diving: Bay Islands, the Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center (WSORC), and Think Beyond Plastics to hold the first student-led international conference on oceanic micro-plastics. The activities included snorkeling and scuba diving to conduct fish and reef surveys, protecting turtle nesting areas, plastic pick-up on the island coast, teaching students about plastics and crafting bracelets about of plastics.
